Welcome to Curiouscoons.org's compilation of web sites for all things "Horsey & Cheesy"!

ALERT!
My Publix is carrying a new spreadable cheese and one of the flavors is Cheddar Horserdish!  I'll add the brand name once I find it. Got it!  It is Presidents Authentic Pub-Cheese (spreadable)! 5/9/11

Publix still has Boars Head Horseradish Cheddar they can slice for you in their deli.

I've found Publix has their own packaged horseradish jack cheese (which I can say from experience is great).  Publix also carries Boars Head brand Horseradish Cheddar in their deli!  I bought their own horseradish jack from the other side of the store and they still sliced it for free!  Awesome store.   (UPDATE) Our Publix no longer carries their store-brand horseradish cheddar cheese.

Horseradish chedder cheese is great with:
-great as the cheese of a turkey or sliced chicken sandwich
-melted on a hamburger
-with spaghetti
-wonderful melted with butter on a baked potato!
-in Chili !

OK, some years ago I found and tried some horseradish cheddar cheese from V Richards.  It was wonderful.  The cheese itself was creamy with the bite and flavor of horseradish.  Unfortunately it was too strong to be nibbled by itself, but is heavenly with a sandwhich or on burgers!  It helps if you already like the taste of horseradish!  Well, after my introduction to this cheese, our local V Richards stopped selling it around late 2008 due to its low sales.  So I found many web sites that carry horseradish cheddar cheese!  One site claims the cheese was originally created in 1972, the year I was born. Funny, I'm as old as this type of cheese!  So without further adieu try the links on the right.  You'll find a variety of brands, weights and prices.  If there was somewhere here in town that sold it again, I'd let you know in a heartbeat.  It's best to try it first before you buy if at all possible, but if you like adding creamy horseradish to sandwiches (like I do), you'll love this cheese!
